Quantum Properties' Orchid is perfectly situated in Port Coquitlam.

There's an Orchid blooming in Port Coquitlam at Quantum Properties' newest condominium development.

"Outdoor activities are right on your doorstep," says Marketing Manager Lisa Lowry. "The location is a huge draw."

You'll find the 25-kilometre Traboulay Trail adjacent to Orchid, along with Gates Park across the street and the Coquitlam River immediately behind. The park includes several sports fields, tennis courts, a picnic area and a playground. There is also an off-leash fenced dog-walking area just moments from Orchid, making the project a great place for man or woman's best friend as well.

The first phase is currently selling, and Lowry notes that it has already been extremely popular with buyers of all ages.

The first phase includes 109 homes with 13 different floorplans, ranging from 528 to 990 square feet. The six-story building offers several different views depending on where you purchase, including river and garden views.

Lowry points out that the first-floor homes in the first phase of Orchid include walk-up patios and entries, with the second-floor homes at the rear of the building featuring their own patios due to the slope of the land. This makes those second-floor units into a ground-level home for buyers.

"It's kind of a unique setup here," Lowry says.

Inside, you'll find your choice of two modern colour schemes: White on White or Shades of Grey. Something that sets Orchid apart is the ability to mix and match between the two schemes.

"People sometimes want to change things," Lowry says. "If you love everything about one scheme but want the countertops from the other, you can have it! It gives people the chance to personalize their home more."

Nine-foot ceilings throughout (with vaulted ceilings on the top floor) and plenty of natural light contribute to the spacious feel of the homes. You have the option of wide-plank vinyl laminate, engineered hardwood, carpet or tile flooring throughout, giving you yet more choices when personalizing your home.

"There's a really open great room kind of feel here," Lowry says. "Our designer has done a great job."

The kitchens feature quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances and chic cabinetry, which differs depending on which scheme you choose. The bathrooms are relaxing and elegant, with wall sconce lighting accenting the framed vanity mirrors, modern sink vanities and designer feature tile highlighting the full tile surround on the tub and shower.

Amenities abound at Orchid. Just some of the features include a pet washing station, guest suite, cardio room, yoga studio, theatre room and secure bicycle lockers for each home. You'll also find extensive walkways and green space, a private meditation garden and a multi-level water feature.

"You're within walking distance of the PoCo downtown core," Lowry says. "You're also within walking distance of the West Coast Express and a bus loop, so commuting is awesome. You can have a bridge-free commute to Vancouver!"

There is also easy access to Lougheed Highway and Highway 1 for those who want to drive, as well as shopping and dining at Coquitlam Centre and Fremont Village, just minutes away.

Homes at Orchid start at $189,900 for a one-bedroom and $239,900 for a two-bedroom. For more information, visit www.orchidcondos.com, call 604-866-4206 or visit the presentation centre at 2455 Wilson Ave., Port Coquitlam, open daily except Fridays between noon and 6 p.m.
