Langley company donates to hospital expansion

Matcon Civil Constructors giving $50,000 to Surrey Memorial Hospital

The newest member of Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Building Foundations Campaign is motivated to give back to a community in which it does significant business.

Matcon Civil Constructors, part of the team currently building the hospital’s new eight-storey Critical Care Tower, has made a $50,000 donation to the Foundation in support of hospital expansion. The Langley-based company is responsible for a number of elements of the Critical Care Tower, including basement shoring (retaining) walls, basement excavation, footing excavations, storm and sanitary sewer services, water services, site grading, and road and parking lot construction.

“The community has given our staff the chance to work and prosper in the area,” says Matcon project manager Isaac Kett. “We are therefore honoured to support such a worthy cause and be a part of Surrey’s growth and prosperity in return.”
