The limited edition Porsche 918 Spyder will be on display at the Porsche Centre Langley beginning tonight (Thursday). The million dollar sports car will be available for the public to view until early March when an unnamed Langley resident takes possession of the vehicle.

OpenRoad Auto Group will showcase one of the world’s rarest, fastest and most expensive super cars beginning Feb. 5  during an exclusive unveiling of a limited-edition Porsche 918 Spyder.

Valued at approximately $1 million, Porsche Centre Langley’s 918 Spyder is one of just two sold in B.C. and one of only five allocated to the region.

Porsche designed the Porsche 918 Spyder to be the ultimate super car of the future. By combining pedigree motor racing technology with everyday utility, this super charged sports car can achieve maximum performance with minimum gas fuel consumption, using Porsche’s most advanced hybrid technology. It is also one of the fastest road cars in the world, with the ability to accelerate to an impressive 60 miles (97 kilometers) per hour in just 2.5 seconds.

Last year, the 918 made history by completing Germany’s Nurburgring racetrack in just 6.57 minutes — the quickest of any production road car, ever.

An anonymous resident from Langley will take possession of the vehicle in early March, but until then it will remain on display for public viewing following the unveiling at Porsche Centre Langley.

This is the second ultra-expensive vehicle OpenRoad Auto Group has unveiled in recent months.

In December, the automotive retail group hosted an exclusive preview event at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Vancouver for the 2015 Rolls-Royce Phantom Pinnacle Travel Edition, also valued at $1 million.
