Several local nominees for Fraser Valley Commercial Building Awards

Fifth annual award winners will be announced at awards dinner on Nov.

Local Langley businesses make up more than half the nominations for next week’s Fraser Valley Commercial Building Awards.

The fifth annual event — which has Re/Max Commercial and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board’s commercial division as gold sponsor —celebrates the best in commercial and industrial construction in the Fraser Valley (the Township, Langley City, Surrey, Abbotsford and Chilliwack).

It will be held on Nov. 25 at Langley's Cascades Casino Resort and Ballroom.

Cushman & Wakefield is also a sponsor.

Langley business make up 15 of the 29 nominees.

The nominees include AA Self Storage Depot, Derby Trails, Fort Professional Building, Kwantlen University Brewing Instructional Laboratory, Langley Acura, Match Eatery & Public House, Porsche Centre Langley, Willoughby Kensington and Willoughby Office Tower for Langley City, while Apex Warehouse, McDonald’s, RONA, Shoppers Drug Mart Murrayville Square,  and St. Nicholas Parish were nominated for the Township.

Langley Concrete was nominated for a project in Chilliwack.

To be eligible, commercial properties must have been completed between Jan. 1, 2014 and Aug. 31, 2015.

Real estate expert Ozzie Jurock is the keynote speaker for the event, and will speak about the “Trudeau Effect on Real Estate”.
