Roughly 100 amateur racers satisfied their need for speed Thursday night, which, in turn, made Speed For Need a roaring success.

Fast Track Indoor Karting Inc. on Production Way in Langley City held its annual food-and-fundraiser Dec. 1.

Visitors were offered a race around the track in exchange for either a cash donation or non-perishable food donations.

All donations will go to the Langley Christmas Bureau and Sources Langley Food Bank.

Fast Track sales rep Jose Perez said there was a generous amount of food donations —with non-perishables filling a large bin — as well as some cash donations during the event.

“The night went well,” Perez said. “There is a lot of people in need at Christmas time so anytime you can help the community, it’s a bonus.”
