Heather Green was overjoyed to get a call from the Langley Advance this morning.
Her name was drawn from thousands, and she’s the winner of the 2018 Langley Advance Shopping Spree.
“Really… oh, fantastic,” Green said, her voice shaking with excitement when she received a call from Langley Advance sales manager Shaulene Burkett a few minutes ago.
Green said she was on top of the world when hearing the news.
In the next few days, she’ll be doing some reconnaissance at some of her favourite participating shops, to make sure she can maximize her time.
Green will then be joined on the shopping spree on Thursday, Aug. 23 by Langley Advance publisher Lisa Farquharson, who will double as chauffeur and bag carrier.
Green will have 1,000 seconds to spend a total of $1,000 at a minimum of 10 local businesses.
She entered the contest at Clipper Street, and she if she can shop there (which she can), that would be her choice for a starting point.
In talking through some of the details for the day, Green admitted she was shaking, telling Burkett that she’s never won anything like this in her life.
