Youth skills open house set for Friday in Langley

The public is invited to attend an open house from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 8 and learn more about the Express To Success Agri-Food and Beverage Processing Program (Youth Skills Link Program).

Community employment services partners, all employers and human resources and interested community members are welcome to attend, meet staff, learn about the program and learn how the program graduates may benefit local business.

The program is designed to give youth between the ages of 15-30 who face barriers to employment an opportunity to gain knowledge about themselves, build employability skills and earn industry specific certificates with a focus on food processing and manufacturing sectors.

The ‘Express to Success Program’ in Agri-Food and Beverage Processing will provide 100 youth with six weeks of group based employability training and eight weeks of work experience in food, beverage and manufacturing sector and preparing them for employment.

The Langley office is located at #103-5844 Glover Rd.

The program is made possible by a funding contribution from the government of Canada and hosted by Mission Community Skills Centre Society, which will provide the program in Langley through 2019.
