Cloverdale Rodeo is in full gallop this weekend

Langley is once again playing prominently in the nearby Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair this weekend.

A chance to win a ferris wheel ride with Langley’s own Chad Brownlee through JRfm radio is attracting a lot of attention to the weekend event, with Brownlee – an ex pro hockey-player turned country music star – performing one show only at the Longhorn Saloon on Sunday night.

But the Langley connection, outside of the flood of local residents expected to attend the traditional May long weekend event, doesn’t end there.

The West Fine Art Show, created by Langley’s own Murray Phillips, returns to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds this year.

In it’s seven-year history, Western Fine Arts Show has grown into one of B.C.’s largest and most prestigious art shows. This year, 21 artists will be in attendance to discuss and show their work. A percentage of proceeds going to C.H.I.L.D. Foundation and the Cloverdale Youth Initiative.

The Langley-based BC Country Music Association (BCCMA) will also be there, hosting a meet-and-greet with more than 50 of your favourite BCCMA artists performing in their Boots and Buckles pavilion.

And Langley’s own Robyn and Ryleigh Gillespie will be performing on the live outdoor entertainment stage.

The long weekend festivities also feature the traditional rodeo, the fifth annual world freestyle round-up skateboarding championships, the West Coast Lumberjack Show, a midway, the return of the Rib Fest barbecue zone, and more.
