There will be plenty to see and do at the Langley Events Centre this weekend, with two big parties in the works.
The Great Big JRBQ will be an all-ages event, with plenty to eat — including a Food Truck Alley — and lots to see and do on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 10 a.m.
Planned activities include a carnival, complete with a dunk tank, rides, obstacle course and rock climbing.
There will also be live music from Madeline Merlo, AJ Woodworth, Wes Mack and One More Girl.
A scavenger hunt will offer players the chance to win tickets to see country artists Alan Jackson and Dwight Yoakam in concert.
Judi The Manners Lady will also be there — on the main stage from 1:30 to 2 p.m. — entertaining families at The Manners Club Party. She will also host a Kindness Keys Contest at her booth.
The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with JRFM broadcasting live from the LEC.
At the same time, the LEC will be hosting its own event, with activities in practically every area of the facility, including a lacrosse tournament.
As well, representatives from TWU, the Township of Langley, Langley Gymnastics Foundation, Basketball B.C., Pacific Sport, Langley Rivermen and Vancouver Stealth will be on site.
Tours of the LEC will be offered and visitors can check out exhibits on the concourse, from B.C. Seniors Games and KidsSport Langley, among others.
Langley Events Centre is located at 7888 200 St.
