A tasty tradition spotlighting a berry special guest star is returning to the Langley Demonstration Garden.

A tasty tradition spotlighting a berry special guest star is returning this month to the Langley Demonstration Garden.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, from noon to 3 p.m, the Township is hosting an open house, featuring the annual BBQ and Blackberry Bake-Off.

Aspiring bakers are encouraged to put their culinary creations to the test, and guests can sample the submissions and vote for their favourites.  Tasting starts at 12:45 p.m.

Guests can also enjoy a locally-sourced barbeque for $5, visit the kids’ craft corner, and groove to live music.

Those entering the bake-off should contact co-ordinator Meg Jordan at 604-546-0344 for a list of acceptable ingredients, food safe considerations and contest rules.  Prizes will be presented.

The demonstration garden is located in the Derek Doubleday Arboretum (21200 block of Fraser Highway).
