The community is invited to celebrate the start of the 100 day countdown to the opening ceremonies to the 2014 B.C. Seniors Games in Langley.
The launch, which includes a torch lighting ceremony, will take place on Thursday (June 5) at the Bedford Landing Plaza (23285 Billy Brown Rd.) at 6:30 p.m.
"The board of directors has been together as a team working since last summer and this event is an important milestone in our planning process," said Games' president Milt Kruger.
"Like the Winter Olympics and other significant Games that our communities have been involved with, the torch lighting ceremony is highly symbolic and adds life to the event.
"We hope many of our Langley residents will be able to join us for this great night."
The Games' ceremony chair Susan Magnusson and her team have created a very special evening for all ages.
The Games will be held in Langley from Sept. 9 to 12 and will welcome close to 4,000 participants from around the province, who will compete in 25 different sports.
