It’s nice to spread out the holiday season. Baking cookies, going skating, singing carols, and maybe a visit with Santa before he has to run back up to the North Pole for his big day.
These things can all make for an enjoyable holiday that lasts longer than just a day or two.
A few Langley organizations and businesses are hosting breakfasts with Santa to help people revel in the holiday spirit.
• The City of Langley is holding its annual breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Douglas Recreation Centre, 20550 Douglas Cres. Attendance is $10 with children three years or younger free. Pre-registration is required at 604-514-2865.
There will be crafts, face painting, a magic show and obviously breakfast (pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice, tea and coffee) to be shared with Old Saint Nick.
• Langley Child Development Centre is also hosting its buffet-style pancake breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 3 with only the 1 p.m. sitting still available. Guests don’t need to be part of the centre to attend. Tickets are $8 each or $30 for a family of four, and include a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, train rides, a selfie booth and a gift shop where kids can pick out gifts for family members by donation. • Santa is going to be busy on Saturday, Dec. 3 as he also will be at the Willows Church breakfast from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at R.C. Garnett Elementary, 7096 201st St. Tickets are $4 each or $15 for a family and will include a photo, games, crafts and breakfast.
• The following week, the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre at 26770 29th Ave. will host the Jolly Old Elf on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. This pancake breakfast is free thanks to MLA Rich Coleman and Encompass Support Services. There will be games and activities. Pre-registration is required at 604-533-6144.
• Over at Krause Berry Farms, Santa will arrive on Sunday, Dec. 11 for a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Facepainting, live music, Lego Master Robin Sather, Christmas elves, and Santa are on hand. It is by donation to breast cancer research. First-come-first-serve. Gluten-free pancakes are available as well.
• Over at the Langley Golf and Banquet Centre, there is a brunch with Santa also on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. Pre-registration is required at 604-534-4555 and each child will receive a gift.
If celebrating Christmas includes a visit with Santa, any of these breakfasts make a wonderful option.
