Envision Financial’s main charity is all about ensuring every resident of Langley has healthy food every single day.
The Langley Advance agrees, and is proud to get behind the Full Cupboard holiday program to help Sources Langley Food Bank keep shelves stocked and provide food to those who need it at the holidays and year round.
Jan McIlvaney, investment advisor assistant at the Envision Willoughby branch, explained that the program runs from Nov. 14 to Dec. 9 this year, with the theme of decorate the tree.
“Each branch [of First West Credit Union – including the Envision outlets] has a set of paper tags,” McIlvaney said. “Anyone can make a donation to the Full Cupboard in their name or someone else’s, then the tag goes on the tree.”
Tags are also available at Envision Insurance locations and at the Advance.
Cash donations are powerful for food banks because these organizations have an almost two-to-one buying power when purchasing food. While cash is accepted at the Willoughby Envision branch, Envision has also made it even easier to donate. Simply text FULL to 41010 to donate $10 to the Full Cupboard program.
The donation will be added to mobile bills and tax receipts are available.
Food donations are also welcome under the tree at Envision, as are gifts for those in need of support at this time of year.
“Each branch works and raises money for local food banks,” McIlvaney said. “This cause is really important to Envision. Everyone in our community has the right to have a balanced meal every day.”
The most needed non-perishable holiday meal items are: boxed stuffing, canned gravy, vegetables and cranberry sauce, coffee and tea, pancake mix and syrup, Tetra pack fruit juices, and Christmas candy and treats.
