Electronic shredding and recycling: Langley RCMP and the Electronic Recycling Association host a secure data destruction event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, at the Otter Co-op, 3650 248th St. Public can bring unwanted electronics (hard drives, computers, laptops, tables, tapes, and other small devices that store data). They can be wiped clean of data or completely destroyed for recycling. Info: era.ca.

Valley Bluegrass Music Society: Concert and jam session with the Lonesome Town Painters will be on Friday, May 26, starting at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church, 9025 Glover Rd. The band performs a 30-minute show followed by jamming. Anone who plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro, or bass is invited to join in. Tickets: $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Langley Home Show: Spring home show is at the George Preston Recreation Centre from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 28. Free admission and parking for public.

Dry Grad car wash and bottle drive: Walnut Grove Secondary, 8919 Walnut Grove Dr., is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 27. Bottle pick up being done in the area between 88th and 56th Avenue, and between 208th and 216th Street. Leave bottles outside front door in bags before 9 a.m. Saturday.

Festival of the Bees: Langley Environmental Partners Society hosts official opening of the Langley Demonstration Garden, Derek Doubleday Arboretum, with a celebration of pollinators. Kids can make beeswax candles or a seed bomb. There’s a plant sale and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 27. No registration required. Costumes welcome. Rain or shine. Refreshments by donation.

With a Little Aloha: Langley Ukulele Ensemble concerts are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, at the Chief Sepass Theatre. Tickets and info: langleyukes.com.

MS Walk: Fraser Valley walk to fundraise for the MS Society opens at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, for check in. Opening ceremonies are 10:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 11 a.m. Choose two- or five-kilometre routes. Start and finish from Douglas Park. Info: msspwalk.donordrive.ca.

Brookswood Community Car Show: Public can go to the school, 20902 37A Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., on May 28 for vehicles from all eras, food trucks, a D.J. with music, adult obstacle course, facepainting, and bouncy castles at this fundraiser that benefits student programs. Photo Walk: From 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, May 28, public can join photographer Jin Cheong of Sony Canada to learn about landscape and macro photography at Sendall Gardens. Hosted by London Drugs. Open to all skill levels.

Piano trio: Violinist Karina Slupski, cellist Ben Goheen and pianist Christina Tong perform at the Cafe Classico season finale on Sunday, May 28, at the Rose Gellert Hall, 4899 207th St. Event starts with coffee and conversation at 2:30 p.m. followed by the concert. Free plant giveaway: Langley-Aldergrove MP Tako van Popta and the Langley Environmental Partners Society will be giving away vine maple trees and Elijah Blue grasses, local plant species, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3 at the Home Depot, 6550 200th St. While supplies last.

Scotch broom cutting: Derby Reach Brae Island Parks Association invites public to help remove the invasive plant in North Langley on Saturday, June 3, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Register at outreach@drbipa.org.

Model A Car Show: 35th annual show of Model As and other cars is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, at the Fort Langley Seniors Hall, 88th Avenue and Glover Road.

Fraser Valley Symphony: Regional symphony concert is at 3 p.m. on June 4 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium in Abbotsford, and features the music of Puccini, Verdi, Offenbach, Strauss, and Bernstein. Tickets: $25 for adults, $18 for seniors and students, and $6 for children 12 and older.
