Coghlan Fundamental Elementary is building a mountain, of food.

The students, staff and parent advisory council have a food drive for the Aldergrove Food Bank Society, leading up to a school fair on Dec. 3.

“In the front entrance of the school will be a large, snowcapped mountain. The kids will bring in cans, boxes, and any non-perishable food to stack in front of our mountain with the goal of hitting the highest peaks,” explained PAC president Shelly Wutke.

The PAC is asking the community to bring food donations to the school’s first annual Christmas Fair at 4452 256th St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The PAC is hosting the sale to raise money for literacy program.

“The gym will be full of hand-crafters, a bake table, warm bannock, and even a fun Christmas-themed photo booth.”
