Township 7 Winery has put its own spin on the diner en blanc phenomenon.

White dress dinners (diner en blanc) have become a popular event. People are clothed all in white for the social events.

That’s still the requirement for the Township 7 event on Aug. 13 but the winery is hosting the Fiesta Blanca from 2 to 6:30 p.m.

This third annual charity fundraiser is an elegant summer party on the winery grounds.

Proceeds will go to the Pathfinder Youth Centre Society for its youth mentorship programs.

The $80 ticket includes a silent auction, raffles, live music, dancing, wine and cuisine. For more information, contact Ruth Lee at 604-598-2703 or pathfinderyouthsociety@shaw.ca.

Naturally

The Chief Sepass Theatre is the site of a unique partnership.

The Changing Seasons is a ballet fundraiser for the Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society on Aug. 20.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and has the society working with the DansArts et al Performing Arts Company in support of wildlife preservation.

“Our existence is inescapably linked to nature,” said Heather Kendall, the dance company artistic director. “The ebb and flow of life and death reflected in the changing seasons. In the ultimate dance towards our demise, our last breath is preserved to bring forth hope of new life.”

The Changing Seasons, using the music of Vivaldi, explores how intricately entwined humans are with nature.
