Langley roads were filled with eye-catching vehicles of every vintage as the Canadian Hot Rod Tour set out Friday morning after overnighting here.

The large contingent of vehicles set out from Jellybean Auto Crafters on the Langley Bypass Friday morning.

The Points West tour has taken the hot rods from the July 12 kickoff in Vaughan, Ont., as far west as Victoria. The tour participants spend the July 23 and 24 weekend there.

Then it’s back to Kelowna and down through the northern United States to get back east to Ontario.

Diana Markle got to make the trek in her wedding gift – a 1930s era Ford Vicky (short for Victoria) – along with her husband of 16 years, Tim.

“He gave this to me as a wedding gift,” she said.

The Napanee, Ont., couple also brought along a 1936 Mullins trailer, painted in the same colour scheme as the Ford.

The Markles made the same trip when Canadian Rodder hosted it back in 2007 and have done mini trips other years.

In addition to the Ford, they own a 1952 half ton truck and he’s rebuilding another Vicky, from 1930.
