Langley Demonstration Garden hosts dig-in

Herbs, perennials and native plants being salvaged

The Langley Environmental Partners Society has organized a number of events and activities:

The Langley Demonstration Garden is on the move and LEPS is hosting the Great Big Dig to salvage as many herbs, perennials and native plants as possible from the current location for transplanting at the new location. All volunteers are welcome to take home a cutting or transplant of their own. Volunteers are required 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Sept. 24 to 29.

River's Day Festival is an ideal opportunity for volunteers who are interested in environmental conservation and for people who enjoy interacting with the public. Volunteers are needed on Sept. 29 from noon to 4 p.m. and Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A large variety of tasks are available. All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, breakfast and lunch.

LEPS is once again looking for donor fruit trees and volunteers willing to help with the Community Harvest Program. If you know of any unpicked fruit trees, stop by the LEPS office to pick up some brochures to distribute.
