Langley Soroptimists mark 30

It's time for Lobster Mania again in Langley!

It’s a year of celebrations for Soroptimists of the Langleys, with one of the group’s largest annual events happening this weekend.

The 11th annual Lobster Mania is being held at the George Preston Rec Centre on Saturday night, with a “near sell-out crowd” coming out to devour two pounds of Atlantic lobster each (flown in from Nova Scotia), enjoy an evening of music, take part in several fundraising games, and spend lots of money in the silent auction, said Soroptimist and event chair Karen Wandler.

But the partying doesn’t end there. To mark the service club’s 30th anniversary, they’re also preparing for a gala celebration on Friday, June 24, at the Fort Langley Golf Course. Tickets for that event are $70 each, and still available from president Diane Summers at 604-534-9487.
