A delicious feast of local vegetables, chicken, pork and even water buffalo showed off the high quality and variety of food found in Langley during the Gumboot Gala on Aug. 18.

Held at Central Park Farms, the third annual event showcased Langley’s local bounty, while raising money for the Langley Community Farmers Market.

Dressed in their best gumboot attire, attendees enjoyed the farm-to-table meal, prepared by Chef Adrian Beaty of Food From the Farm, along with locally produced beer, wine and cider and live music by the Cole Peterson Band.

Kendall Ballantine, owner of Central Park Farms, also gave a tour of her family’s 40-acre operation, which specializes in ethically raised chicken, eggs, pork and beef.
