This is a favourite for all our family celebrations.

My 13-year-old grandson, Sam, and I have found it necessary to double the recipe for this.

So not only is it our tradition, but we have renamed it “Sam’s Favourite Fruit Salad.”

Allow your grandson/granddaughter to lick the bowl, and let them always have seconds.

Ambrosia Salad

(AKA – Sam’s Favourite Fruit Salad)

Ingredients:

• 2 eggs, beaten

• 4 tbsp vinegar

• 4 tbsp sugar

• 2 tbsp butter

• 1 cup whipped cream

• 2 cups drained pineapple chunks

• 2 cups drained orange sections

• 1 cup drained fruit cocktail or grapes

• 2 cups miniature marshmallows

Directions:

Combine the first three ingredients in a double boiler.

Cook over low heat, stirring until thick.

Remove from heat, fold in the butter.

Cool.

When cool, fold in whipped cream, drained fruit and marshmallows. Refrigerate for 24 hours and enjoy as part of the main course or as a dessert.
