This is our family’s traditional Christmas birthday cake.

We place candles on it and sing happy birthday to Jesus.

This has been a favourite of our children throughout the years and now our grandchildren. Enjoy and have a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Birthday Cake

Ingredients

• 1 pkg white cake mix

• 2 cups boiling water

• 1 3oz.pkg raspberry Jello

• 1 8oz. container Cool Whip, thawed

• 1 3oz. pkg lime Jello

Directions

Prepare cake mix as directed on package.

Pour batter into two round 8” or 9” pans.

Bake as directed.

Cool 10 minutes.

Remove cakes from pans.

Cool completely.

Place cake layers, tops up back into cleaned pans.

Prick each cake layer with fork at ½” intervals.

Pour 1 cup boiling water over raspberry Jello in bowl; stir until dissolved.

Spoon raspberry Jello over one cake layer.

Repeat with lime Jello.

Refrigerate four hours.

Dip one pan into warm water for 10 seconds.

Invert pan to deposit cake onto plate.

Spread 1 cup of the Cool Whip.

Repeat with remaining cake, top side up onto first layer.

Frost top and sides with remaining Cool Whip. Refrigerate.

Garnish with Christmas candies or as desired.
