'Mad City Chickens' raises funds for 4-H

A movie screening in Cloverdale will raise awareness about chickens, and funds for a Langley 4-H club.

A movie fundraiser on Sunday will also raise awareness about raising chickens.

Emma Giesbrecht is a member of the Otter Flying Feathers 4-H Club. She has arranged for a screening of “Mad City Chickens” at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Clova Theatre in Cloverdale. Suggested donation is $3 per person, $10 per family.

This is part of her 4-H self-directed project this year. She is co-ordinating the movie fundraiser event for her 4-H club.

Emma is a 13-year-old who joined 4-H four years ago. As a result, she has become passionate about chickens and farming and wants to make it possible for people to learn about farming, whether they live on farms or whether they live in residential areas.

She has also started a Facebook group called “Chickens for Langley,” which can be found at  https://www.facebook.com/groups/296925850418875/?fref=ts.
