Milk powder drive planned by Canadian Food for Children

A new powdered milk project will help needy children in Haiti.

Canadian Food for Children, B.C. Division (CFFC), a Langley charity, has announced its new milk powder project for Haiti.  The goal of this project is to provide nourishment for 20,000 Haitian children who are currently in orphanages or homeless.

CFFC has been a registered charity since January 1990. Its mandate is to feed and support people, primarily children, in developing countries through shipments of dry food, hospital supplies and school supplies.

Haiti has been CFFC’s focus since the devastating earthquake in 2010. Having been told that milk would be “more important than medication” by a physician, CFFC decided to initiate a milk powder program for the needy children there.  It is estimated that $85,000 is required to supply 20,000 children with one glass of milk daily for one year.
