On Saturday, March 29, more than 200 people attended Envision Financial’s third annual Shred it and Forget it event, as part of National Fraud Prevention Month. During the four-hour event, more than 8,500 pounds of paper was securely shredded through the onsite shredding services provided by Iron Mountain.
As part of the event, which was a partnership between Envision Financial, the Langley RCMP and Iron Mountain, food and cash donations were accepted for The Full Cupboard, Envision Financial’s signature community program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for local food banks. Notably, participants generously donated a record breaking $1,700 and more than 300 pounds of food to The Full Cupboard.
“Despite the rainy and windy weather, we had a great turn out for our Shred it and Forget it event,” says Jaime Lord, senior investigator for corporate security at Envision Financial. “Once again, we had people show up with truckloads of paper to be shredded, with some documents even dating back to 1975. At the end of the day, we filled 50 big bins, amounting to approximately 350 boxes of shredding. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the 20 volunteers from Envision Financial, Iron Mountain and the Langley Community Police who braved the wet and cold to help us pull off yet another successful event – we couldn’t have done it without them.”

It was wonderful to meet members of the community who provided either cash or food donations to The Full Cupboard in exchange for securely shredding their materials. It was a wonderful event!”
