The faculty and Parents Advisory Council members at North Otter Elementary wanted to give back to those who have been victimized in the recent Sources Food Bank thefts.

On Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. they set up a post at the Otter Co-Op in Aldergrove and sold hot dogs and hot beverages, and sang Christmas carols to round up the generosity of shoppers.

In two short hours they managed to raise $140 for the food bank.

"Our mission this year has been to give back to our community and what better way during this holiday season than to try and make up for those who have stolen what is so valued during this time of year," said Natalie Franklin, PAC President.

"This may not see like a lot, but to the food bank, this is huge, as it means they will be able to purchase three times that amount to replenish their supply. We are very proud of our faculty staff and our two little helpers who braved the cold and wet elements to make a difference in our community."
