Langley City Mayor Ted Schaffer (centre) was part of a large group that arrived to send off Cheryl Young, Nigel Tucker and about a dozen others who are walking all the way to Banff, Alta. to raise awareness and funds for fibromyalgia and other invisible illnesses. The group left the Fibromyalgia Well Spring Foundation thrift shop on Fraser Highway at 9 a.m. on May 24 and walked to Abbotsford for the first day of the 1,050 km journey.
