A popular destination for many Langley fliers is holding a pie day on Tuesday, with all proceeds going to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Many Langley pilots and their passengers like to spend a relaxed day in the air by heading for Chilliwack. They stop at the airport, stretch their legs — and have a piece of pie at the airport coffee shop.
On June 25, the Chilliwack Airport Coffee Shop is holding its third annual pie day, and 100 per cent of the pies they sell (whether by the slice or as a whole) will be donated to The Terry Fox Foundation. They hold this event in memory of Betty Fox, who passed away in June of 2011. Last year, they were able to raise over $3,000 in a single day for the foundation.
“I Fly for Pie!” is the slogan seen by travellers and local community members who frequent the Chilliwack Airport Coffee Shop for their delicious, homemade pies.
The owners of the Chilliwack Airport Coffee Shop, the Good sisters, are longtime supporters of the foundation.
This year, supporters can order a pie by calling 604-792-0814 or place an order for a future pickup. There are more than 30 types of pies to choose from, so this an opportunity to plan for the future.
