Plus One movement helps rescue dogs

Event on Saturday highlights initiative to help dogs in need.

Darford International, a pet food and treat company based in Vernon, has partnered with Harvey’s Pet Foods to host a Plus One Movement event this upcoming weekend. Join them in Langley on Saturday, April 21 at Harvey’s Pet Foods (15-20811 Fraser Highway) for an in-store event to learn all about the Plus One Movement. The event runs from, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Representatives from the Dhana Metta Rescue Society will be on location as well to answer questions and thank supporters.

All proceeds from the day’s event will be donated to the organization. Attendees (and their dogs) will receive free Darford samples in addition to other giveaways and will be eligible for a grand prize draw of Darford products.

This event marks the first of a community event series that will take place across Canada this summer for to drive awareness and gain support of the initiative. Some of the retail partners involved thus far include Harvey’s Pet Foods, Pet Food & More and Healthy Spot. Through the Plus One Movement, Darford’s innovative program that encourages consumers to “buy for one, care for two,” rescue dogs across North America are benefitting from Darford’s award-winning Zero/G food and treat donations. Since the inception of the Plus One Movement, Darford has provided nearly 460,000 meals to rescue dogs across North America. It currently assists 18 animal rescues across North America and the list is growing. As a result, rescue dogs are receiving a second chance to live and organizations and supporters are able to be part of this life-saving initiative.
