Ride for Doug is set for Sunday

Annual motorcycle ride raises funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

The eighth annual Ride For Doug motorcycle event is taking place Sunday,  June 1.

More than $30,000 was raised and 110 riders took part last year.

A new chapter has opened in Victoria as well.

The ride is named for Cam Penner’s son Doug, a 10-year-old bike enthusiast who has Muscular Dystrophy.

All proceeds from the ride go to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

The ride both starts and ends at South Langley Church, 20098 22 Ave. Registration is $20. This includes both the ride and a barbecue afterwards.

Riders are encouraged to collect donations, and if they bring in more than $50 of donations, they ride and eat for free. For more information, go to www.RideForDoug.com or on Facebook page: RideForDoug.

The ride begins at 1 p.m., with registration starting at 12 p.m. The barbecue is at 5:30 p.m.
