Royal Tea to celebrate wedding

It is the next best thing to being in Westminster Abbey. Plus, there will be tea and scones.

A Royal Tea to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be held at the Langley Centennial Museum on Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m.

Local royal watchers are invited to gather in the museum’s art gallery to see a re-broadcast of the April 29 royal wedding and enjoy a British-style social tea.

In keeping with the theme, fancy hats are encouraged and prizes will be awarded to the most elaborate chapeaux.

The Royal Tea is for those aged 16 and over, and costs $10. Advance registration is required. Contact Liette at lforestell@tol.ca or call 604 532-3536.

The Langley Centennial Museum, located in Fort Langley at 9135 King St., is also featuring a Treasures From Our Collection display spotlighting British artifacts and royalty. Visit langleymuseum.org.
