Students reunite

Langley Secondary School’s graduating class of 1961 is holding its 50th anniversary reunion this weekend, and there are still a few grads that organizers have been unable to contact.

Jean Gregson said that about 80 people are coming to events, beginning this evening (Friday).

The weekend’s celebrations begin with registration of the class of ’61 and a ‘meet and greet’ at LSS starting at 3:45 p.m., followed by a guided tour of the school.

The school’s current Student Leadership Group has lined up student volunteers, and the art class has a special project for the graduates, Gregson said. Photography club students will take candid photos at the meet and greet.

Grads of ’61 can be re-acquainted at the Thirsty Penguin Pub in the nearby Langley Twin Rinks.

There were 88 students in the Class of ’61, the girls outnumbering the boys 52 to 36.
