London Drugs locations across the country have teamed up with Langley’s Josh Collins and his Kicking Cancer initiative.

Beginning today (July 10) and continuing through the month, shoppers can donate $2 to Kicking Cancer, which benefits the Ron Collins Foundation.

The money raised by the organization is used to help families affected by cancer cover their financial needs.

“I know first hand just how hard it is,” said Collins, who lost his father Ron to cancer in 2009.

“I watched as my mom had to work full-time while taking care of my dad. It took a huge toll on my mom.

“We searched all across North America for help (but) there’s not much out there.”

Collins, a former junior and semi-pro football player, started the foundation in 2012, raising the bulk of the money by kicking field goals.

Donations can be made at London Drugs until July 31. For more, visit www.kickingcancer.ca.
