Trail connecting Derby Reach Regional Park to Golden Ears Bridge now open

Dignitaries gathered from across the Lower Mainland Saturday, June 7, to celebrate International Trails Day by officially opening the Derby Reach Regional Park to Golden Ears Bridge – Canyon to Coast Trail/ Trans Canada Trail Connection. From right to left: Maple Ridge-Mission MLA Marc Dalton, Abbotsford-Mission MLA Simon Gibson, City of Langley Councillor Gayle Martin, City of Vancouver Councillor Heather Deal, Township of Langley Deputy Mayor Bev Dornan and Ted Adlem, Mayor of Mission, unveil a commemorative plaque along a portion of the trail near the south end of Golden Ears Bridge. The new portion of the trail is part of a demonstration project for the Experience the Fraser initiative, which showcases the Fraser River, its communities, and rich cultural and natural heritage.
