There were many spectacular wildlife pictures submitted, and editor Roxanne Hooper thanks all who entered. But only one could win, and judges picked Carmen Braun’s image of this dragonfly. (Carmen Braun/Special to the Langley Advance)

Judges looked at beauty, composition, lighting, and the difficulty of getting the photographs when deciding who would walk away a winner.

The Langley Advance hosted a photo contest, inviting readers to share pictures of wildlife. The photos had to be taken in Langley.

Receiving in excess of 200 photographs, picking just one winner was very difficult, said editor Roxanne Hooper.

Brookswood’s Carmen Braun entered a number of “stunning” photographs, but judges were most impressed with the dragonfly shot.

Consequently, she walks away with a $60 gift card to Me ‘n’ Eds Pizza.

“Thanks to all those who took the time to share your incredibly beautiful images,” Hooper said.

The pictures have been posted on the Advance’s website and a video featuring all of the images.

In the meantime, Hooper said, stay tuned for the next photo contest (on an unrelated subject), coming this fall.
