VIDEO: Motors and Music fundraiser this Saturday at KPU Langley

Organizers are hoping to double the amount they raised last year

Organizer Jovan Vujatovic is aiming for a bigger and better Motors and Music Car Show this weekend in Langley.

Vujatovic, a former special reserve constable and a colleague of fallen Abbotsford Police officer Const. John Davidson is hoping to double the amount raised last year, when an estimated 4,000 people attended the event at at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University  Langley campus, which raised $10,000.

"We are looking for more people to step up and reach a goal of $20,000 for 2024," Vujatovic told the Langley Advance.

It will be held Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 20901 Langley Bypass, in support of  tuitions and scholarships for children of fallen officers.

There will be cool vehicles and live music, including the return of Steve "Elvis Elite" Elliott, who performed last year, and the addition of KISS tribute band Alive N' Kissn' from Vancouver, and their pyro display.

Starbucks will also be back, Vujatovic advised.

"They helped us out by providing approx 2,500 free beverages [last year]."

Car owners can register online.
