Young voices filled the foyer of the Langley Community Music School (LCMS) with music during the annual Community Day open house held on Saturday, May 4.
Visitors were treated to a series of student concerts, beginning with a performance in the foyer by the LCMS children’s choir, followed by the junior and intermediate orchestras.
LCMS Principal Carolyn Granholm said it was an opportunity to introduce prospective students and their parents to the “state-of-the-art” facility in the 4800 block of 207 street, which has been home to the school for over 50 years.
“It’s one of our favourite events of the year” Granholm said.
This year, the school is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

“The building that you’re seeing here today was built in 2001,” Granholm said.
“But we’ve been in this spot for a long time.”
