Results of the Fort Langley Community Association’s 2018 survey of business owners and residents will be discussed at a community information session.

The information session will be held on April 11, 7-9 p.m., at the Fort Langley Community Hall.

There will be a presentation on key issues that emerged from the community survey, followed by a question and answer session.

“The survey generated important feedback on issues of importance to the community,” said Andy Schildhorn, president of the FLCA. “We heard from residents and local businesses that they are concerned about truck traffic, intersections, sidewalks, parking, residential development, and heritage conservation.”

Schildhorn added, “We look forward to having a meaningful discussion on these issues with the community. We will use all of this feedback to help guide future priorities for the community association.”

The community information session is free and registration is not required.

The survey was hand delivered and mailed to every household in the Village in the spring of 2018, and mailed to all rural residents.

A total of 535 responses were received which was a 50 per cent in participation from the 2017 survey, according to Schildhorn.

The survey was supported by the Fort Langley Community Improvement Society, Lee’s Market, Wendel’s Bookstore & Cafe, Sweetgrass Naturals, Beatniks Bistro, and Mangia e Scappa, and community volunteers who delivered the survey to each household in Fort Langley.

The FLCA mandate is to represent the opinions of the residents and business of Fort Langley to Township Council and others, and in turn, to provide residents and businesses with information about issues of importance to the Village.
