Women were being celebrated today (Friday, March 8) from 2 to 4 p.m. at Langley’s Muriel Arnason Library for International Women’s Day – a global day that recognizes the social, economic, cultural and political accomplishments of women, and calls for gender equality.

“It’s a very special day,” said Sarwan Randhawa, community librarian and supervisor.

“We respect and definitely appreciate the great work our women do. Without women we cannot even imagine this world. We are here because of women so I have a lot of respect for women.”

Henna artist Dimple Rayat was at the event to offer free henna designs for guests.

The event also included a green screen photo booth, refreshments, displays, and a draw.
