Actress unveils plans for new film studio in Langley

Langley actress Gemma Martini is taking on a new and much different role. She's now CEO of Martini Film Studios being unveiled in Walnut Grove early next week.

A new eight-stage film studio is being launched in the Walnut Grove neighbourhood of Langley.

Martini Film Studios, headed up by Langley actress (both stage and screen), director, and CEO Gemma Martini, will unveil the150,000-square-foot film lot early next week at the site in the 19700 block of 96th Avenue.

Martini, 41, will be accompanied by Deputy Premier and Fort Langley-Aldergrove MLA Rich Coleman, as well as Community,Sports, and Cultural Development Minister and MLA Peter Fassbender, and Creative BC CEO Prem Grill.

Tied in with a lighting and film industry supply company, MBS Equipment, this new film studio will help support B.C.’sbooming film industry and create new local jobs, Martini said.

She describes it as the newest film and television production studio with state-of-the-art production facilities and full backlot support services.

The unveiling of the new studio will happen next Tuesday morning.
