Word is out, and Aldergrove Fair organizers are confirming, that they've officially stepped back in time to the 1960s and ’70s with a band still around today, that has it roots in that time.
Trooper will be the headliner of this year's three-day fair, and chair Robin MacIntosh seems pretty thrilled.
“Yes, it’s true! We have Trooper headlining our Saturday night at the Aldergrove Fair this year.”
“Pretty exciting stuff,” MacIntosh said.
The fair runs July 14 to 16 this year, with Trooper – the band that brought us Raise A Little Hell, among other hits – taking to the stage Saturday, July 15.
STORY CONTINUES BELOW
It's possible thanks to the sponsorship of Aldergrove's Nicholson Group of Companies and Craig Nicholson.
"I was born in Murrayville, along with my brothers Brian and Steve," Nicholson said. "We are very proud of this and we feel we wouldn't be where we are today without the guidance of some really good people in this community. We are very grateful to live here, to have grown up here, and now operate our businesses from our head office here in Aldergrove."
Nicholson describes himself as a lifelong dreamer.
"When we were teenagers, I often said that I wanted to throw a concert one day for everyone we grew up with… and I wanted Trooper to be the entertainment. This was a dream that just wouldn't go away," he shared.
"So, fast forward 20-some years… the concert is really going to happen. This summer Trooper will play the Aldergrove Fair for everyone to enjoy," Craig said, extending an invite to everyone.
"We are here for a 'good time, not a long time' and remember… so make sure to plan to get out and enjoy this wonderful event," Nicholson said.
