Cloverdale Legion open house to have vintage vehicles, obstacle course

Community invited to celebration on June 24, funds raised will go to Surrey and Langley cadets

The Cloverdale Legion branch no. 6 will hold an open house on Saturday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The celebration invites the community down to the Legion building at 17567 57 Ave. The family friendly event will have kids activities, including a bouncy castle, an obstacle course and a DJ.

There will be a hot dog and hamburger lunch by donation, which will be served by the Ladies’ Auxiliary from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Members from cadet groups 2277 RCAC Seaforth Highlanders and the 307 RCSCC Mariner will be there, as will the Canadian military education centre.

More than 10 vintage vehicles and other equipment from the Second World War will be on display, including a half-track and a 1943 17-pounder anti-tank gun.
