That smooth growling yell indicative of classic rockers, Headpins, is coming to Langley for the first time in a few years.
The woman behind the sultry voice with a vast range is Darby Mills and the band's front-woman will be celebrating her birthday at the concert tonight (Dec. 3) at Cascades Casino.
"One of the West Coast's most energetic and magnetic live groups, the Headpins have an incomparable chemistry with their audience, making them one of the hottest commodities in Canadian rock," said Rob Warwick of Rock-It Boy Entertainment, the show promoter.
Headpins was founded in the Lower Mainland in the 1970s and started making traction with audiences in Vancouver in the early 1980s when the group's album made platinum in 1982 on the popularity of hit song, Don't it Make Ya Feel. Expect this classic song and others to be performed by the group Thursday.
"Fronted by Darby Mills, whose signature growl is matched only by her purr, the band has produced such hits as Turn It Loud, one of the greatest rock anthems of all time!
