Coastal City Ballet is opening its sixth season with the mixed repertoire program Fall for Ballet on Dec. 3 at the Chief Sepass Theatre in Fort Langley.

As a premiere repertory ballet company, Coastal City Ballet is comprised of locally trained and international dancers, bringing affordable, family friendly mixed repertoire shows and engaging, full-length story ballets to the local community.

The evening includes End of Time, from the gold medal winning choreographer Ben Stevenson (OBE) and Marius Petipa’s elegant Jardin Anime, an excerpt from the classic Le Corsaire, complete with tutus. Also, Li Yaming, Coastal City Ballet’s artistic director brings two works: Tango, set to Astor Piazzolla, and Drum Roll, a powerful all-male work displaying synchronicity and balletic skill.

There will also be a performance at the Kay Meek centre in West Vancouver on Nov. 26 at 8 p.m.

The Fort Langley performance is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $18 to $30 and are available online at www.coastalcityballetlangley.brownpapertickets.com.
