Annual gala takes flight
Fans of vintage Canadian aircraft can support Langley’s flight museum at this year’s annual fundraising gala on Saturday.
The Canadian Museum of Flight’s Scotch and Chocolate Fantasy Gala features cocktails and appetizers, and gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
There will be a slider station as well as a Scotch-tasting bar, and food by Chef Nowak.
Dinner will be finished with a chocolate fantasy dessert presentation and entertainment.
There will be a live and silent auction of some of the unique items and services made available to the flight museum. The dress code is business casual.
Tickets are $90 per person or $610 for a table of eight. Tickets are available through VTix or by calling the museum’s office at 604-532-0035.
The Canadian Museum of Flight, located at the Langley Airport, preserves and restores some of the country’s airborne history. The volunteers have built or rebuilt a number of historic aircraft, from warplanes to the aircraft used by bush pilots.
Right now, they are assembling two replica Sopwith Pups, First World War fighter aircraft, which they hope will fly in the skies over Vimy Ridge next year to mark 100 years since the battle there.
