Freedom rider to speak at Fort Gallery

The first Thursday of every month the Fort Gallery in Fort Langley hosts a variety of artistic guests to speak about their work.

On Thursday, June 2, the Fort Gallery is welcoming guest speaker Bev Mill, a civil rights activist, as part of their monthly First Thursday event series.

Mill, who has been honoured by President Barak Obama for her role in standing up for racial equality, was a freedom rider in the United States during the early 1960s.

Also during the event, several artists from the gallery's current exbihit  “The Plein Air Affair” will talk about their work.

The Fort Gallery's First Thursday events are held on the first Thrusday of every month, featuring a variety of visual artists, writers, poets and musicals who share their gifts and creations.
