A Langley artist is asking the public for support in the final leg of the Telus competition, Storyhive.
Back in January, Carla Mah, along with team members Alexandra Marriott and Rosaura Lezama, were awarded a $10,000 grant as part of the contest to produce the animation short, Witch Problems?
The five-minute film follows Sage, a socially awkward modern witch in Vancouver who is attempting to make ends meet by decorating homes for TV Christmas movies.
Mah helped write, produce and do the voice of Sage.
The voting period is from now until June 9 at 12 p.m. PST. The public can vote once every day.
The winning team will be awarded with customized career training and an opportunity to attend the 2017 Ottawa Animation Festival.
“We could be one lucky winner out of 10 finalists up for an amazing grand prize that would help us continue our careers in animation,” Mah said.
“We built our team from the ground up, supporting both women, and people of colour, which is something that seems to be sparse in the animation world. More than half our team is female, and our diversity is off the charts.”
