Langley City’s Canada 150 Mosaic Mural is set to be published nationally in an art book that celebrates one of the world’s largest collaborative murals.

More than 80,000 Canadians in communities across the country took part in the mural project to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday last year. Each community created a different section of the mural, which when put together, displays train cars connecting Canadians from coast to coast.

The Langley mosaic was created by approximately 500 people, who each painted a 4” X 4” tile to create the image of two people carrying a canoe.

Some communities are continuing to paint their murals, and all are expected to be completed by September, 2019.

The book displaying the murals will be available for purchase in December, 2019, and can be pre-ordered online at www.canada150mosaic.com.
