Langley Community Music School is offering a free children’s concert, along with the chance to explore its many music programs, when it opens its doors to the public for an open house this weekend.

The Fall Community Day Open House is scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 8 from noon to 2 p.m.

Back by popular demand, celebrated children’s entertainer Chris Hamilton and Friends will be performing a free children’s concert at noon.

Playing a fun, rockin’, folksy, funky style of music, the band is inspired by the likes of Stompin’ Tom Connors, Bob Marley, and Sesame Street.

After the concert, visitors can take a tour of the LCMS facility, meet the teachers and learn more about programs and classes.

“This children’s concert is not to be missed,” said LCMS Junior Programs Co-ordinator, Leanne Wendt.

“We are proud to be offering free children’s concerts to the community and this one is guaranteed to be a blast. And come learn more about LCMS at our open house. We have lessons and programs for all ages and levels.”

No registration is necessary for the open house and children’s concert, but registration for fall classes will be available during the event.

The school will also hold two more free children’s concerts this school year.

The first takes place during the Family Intro to Music Night with the Rose Gellert String Quartet on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. The second takes place during the Community Day Open House and Variety Show on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Langley Community Music School and the Rose Gellert Hall are located at 4899 207 St.
