Motown comes to the Fraser Valley

Thomas McClary, one of the founding members of Motown's '70s super group The Commodores will perform two shows in the Valley this week. The first is tonight in Aldergrove, beginning at 7 p.m., the second happens Thursday at the House of James in Abbotsford.

It's a pair of concerts that fans of Motown will not want to miss.

Tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 2)  at 7 p.m. Thomas McClary — one of the founding members and main songwriters for '70s super group The Commodores — will perform in Langley.

The concert, which will take place in at 24883 Robertson Cres. in Aldergrove, is the first of two shows for the American music legend, who will be joined on stage by a number of local performers.

Tickets are $20 at the door and light refreshments will be served.  Call 604-856-7567 for more info.  Space for this show will be very limited, but for those who can't make it, McClary will perform again on Thursday, Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the House of James, 2743 Emerson St., Abbotsford.

McClary will be playing a number of Commodores hits at both shows, including Brickhouse, Three Times A Lady, Still, Sail On, Easy (Like Sunday Morning)  Lady, You Lift Me Up and Jesus Is Love.  

Playing with Thomas will be a number of local musicians from the area, including Ryan McAllister, Steve Klassen, Jared Falk, Brett Ziegler, Checo Tohomaso (director of the Sweet Soul Gospel Choir) , Aadin Church, and Perry Springman.
